There should be actions taken for raising awareness about this widespread and often misdiagnosed disease lipedema. It should be diagnosed as early as possible and the  health care providers should offer best support to patients for the early and best management solutions to prevent disease progression. There should be a multidisciplinary approach with best management options involving vascular medicine specialists, plastic surgeons, obesity and endocrinology specialists, and physiotherapists working side by side for the betterment of patients psychological and physiological symptoms and help in prevention of disease progression. In parallel, there is  also a strong need to conduct specific research studies to better understand the pathophysiology of lipedema and to design specific therapeutic strategies and better treatment options to prevent the debilitating effects it can cause to patient's lives.
